Comprised of mixed media including black chiffon, wood, steel pins, salt, paint and more, this work memorializes a stunningly beautiful Thai woman, Nastasia. She had been sold by her mother to an American GI as a war baby (Vietnam War) to become his sex slave/daughter/concubine. She was regularly abused, physically, emotionally and sexually, by her American savior and his friends. As an adult, Nastasia became adept at using her stunning beauty and mastered the art of manipulation (i.e., money, necessities and control) but, ultimately took her own life by hanging herself at the young age of 28.
